Research on Component Model of Digital Competence and the Key Pathways to Enhancement for Primary and Secondary School Teachers
Under the background of the digital transformation of education, enhancing the digital competence of primary and secondary school teachers and strengthening the construction of the teaching workforce are crucial measures to effectively promote educational digitization. Based on the competence model, this paper analyzes the relevant literature of teachers’ digital competence and employs the grounded theory analysis method to extract the constituent elements of teachers’ digital competence, thereby constructing an initial model of teachers’ digital competence. By analyzing the survey data of the digital literacy of primary and secondary school teachers in China, the teachers’ digital competence model is validated through case studies. Through the evolution of three stages of initial drafting, revision, and refinement, a primary and secondary school teachers’ digital competence component model is formulated, consisting of five core attributes, personality traits, digital awareness and motivation, digital teaching ability, digital learning and innovation, digital thinking ability and 24 characteristic items. Finally, from the internal factors, core factors, and external factors, key paths for enhancing the digital competence of primary and secondary school teachers are proposed. Through the comprehensive implementation of the key paths, it provides strong support for the cultivation of digital competence of primary and secondary school teachers and realizes the high-quality development of basic education.
