Iron–induced, sex‐specific alterations of mitochondrial bioenergetic function and increased amyloid beta plaque size in 5xFAD mice
Our data suggest that iron treatment induced sex-specific alterations of mitochondrial bioenergetic function and amyloid beta plaque size in 5xFAD mice. Future studies will assess the underlying molecular mechanisms driving sex-specific differences in iron-induced AD pathology.
