Classification of Lyric Poetry Written in Serbian

In terms of natural language processing, Serbian belongs to low-resource languages, with a small number of available datasets and tools. In this paper, we present a novel poem classification corpus in the Serbian language, in multi-label and multiclass variants. We provide an analysis of this dataset and then use it to train and evaluate machine learning classifiers, ranging from simple linear ones to multiple large language model variants.
