Intelligent System for Coffee Odor Identification and Classification

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology and Machine Learning (ML) techniques led to the appearance of systems that can detect and identify odors, known as electronic noses. In this context, the present paper proposes an intelligent system for the identification and classification of odors emitted by different types of coffee, based on the Bosch BME688 gas sensor development kit and on a software application with ML capabilities. The system architecture particularities are shown, and several tests to evaluate the system performance are described.
