Dynamic analysis of a thermally loaded imperfect functionally graded tapered rotating shaft using the differential quadrature finite element method

The current research paper proposes a numerical investigation of the dynamic behavior of a porous functional graded ceramic-metal tapered rotating shaft using the differential quadrature finite elements method to identify the natural frequencies for modeling and analysis of the structure with appropriate validations. The goal of this paper is to investigate the effect of heat gradients and porosity on the natural frequency of rotation of FG shafts using three-dimensional solid elements, as well as a theoretical examination using the Timoshenko beam mode, which took the gyroscopic effect and rotational inertia into account. The power law hypothesis describes the distribution of functionally graded materials. Radial temperature distributions are generated using the nonlinear temperature distribution) approach to mimic various thermal conditions. This paper examines the effects of different material laws gradation, porosity and temperature gradient distributions on the fundamental frequencies. On the basis of material qualities, attempts are made to identify suitable explanations for the behaviors. The dynamic behavior of the FG conical rotor system is studied in terms of taper angle and material distribution.
