The Natural Aesthetic Consciousness in Zhou Bida(周必大)'s Travel Diary
In the travel diaries of Zhou Bida, a prominent Southern Song scholar, such As 『Guiyuling Diary』, 『Xianju Lu』, 『Fantou Youshan Lu』, 『Tongshi Lu』 And 『Nangui Lu』, there are many descriptions of natural scenery, reflecting the different natural aesthetic concepts of scholars in the Song Dynasty compared to those in the prehistoric and ancient periods. Through the study of Zhou Bida's travel diaries, it can be seen that in the Song Dynasty's natural aesthetics, not only was it inclined to show one's personality and moral quality through natural aesthetics, but it also tended to link natural aesthetics with the scholar's character, thereby enhancing the connection between natural beauty, personality, and society. The Song Dynasty scholars facilitated the integration of natural scenery and humanistic scenery, thereby generating stronger aesthetic experiences in natural aesthetics, which also signifies the transfer of the scholars' natural aesthetic concepts and tastes from the ancient period.
