CORRELATING BODY MASS INDEX AND NECK CIRCUMFERENCE WITH SEVERITY OF OBSRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA IN OBESE PATIENTS
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a global disease with a rising incidence along with its comorbidities especially metabolic syndrome. Obesity is the main component contributing to sleep apnea. An increased neck circumference also contributes to airway obstruction in obese patients resulting in sleep apnea. OSA is a condition that requires management and the disease can be treated by using CPAP therapy. Due to the associated morbidity identication of patients with OSA and determining its correlation with obesity and increased neck circumference is an important public health issue.
