Archiving social movement(s)
This paper argues that the history of social movements is a history of embodied movement, but it is rarely presented as such in traditional archives. By exploring the central role that performance has in protest and in the shaping of public memory, this paper seeks to contribute to the ongoing conversation on decolonizing archival practices. Looking at case studies from Argentina, it analyzes how affect and embodied experiences can be included in the archiving of social movement(s) and in the transmission of these archives.
