Internet and Farmers Wellbeing: Evidence from Indonesia

This research aims to analyze the distinction between internet usage for trade access and other purposes in farmer households to create household well-being by using the OLS regression method with SUSENAS-household survey data in 2020. The farmer households analyzed in this study were farmer households where the head of the household had access to the internet. The results showed that farmers with internet access had higher welfare than farmers who had no internet access. Furthermore, farm households that use internet access for the sale and purchase of goods and services simultaneously have a higher level of welfare than farmers who use the internet for other activities. Internet utilization is only for non-trade -access to news, social media, and sending or receiving emails-leads to low welfare compared with other household internet users.
