DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT-CENTERED GRADUATE SUPERVISION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BASED ON AGILE METHODOLOGY

This study explores the development of a student-centered graduate supervision management system using Agile methodology in higher education institutions. The system is designed to enhance the supervision experience of graduate students, particularly in the context of doctoral programs where timely completion is often a challenge. Agile methodology, characterized by iterative processes and collaboration, can provide the structured support needed throughout the research and supervision process. However, the development of this system faces several issues and challenges. One of the main challenges is the need to build a strong relationship between students and supervisors, balancing guidance with autonomy. Additionally, the implementation of Agile methodology introduces additional complexities in managing supervision projects, which can lead to confusion regarding roles and responsibilities among supervisors and students. Other issues include the design and delivery of effective courses based on student-centered learning principles and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The study's methodology uses an adaptive approach, combining Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods. Data was collected through interviews and literature reviews, as well as using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to assess user satisfaction. Findings indicate that while the system is well-received by users, there is room for improvement, particularly in aspects of usage consistency and navigation. In conclusion, the system can enhance the educational experience of students by facilitating better communication and collaboration between students, supervisors, and administrators. However, to ensure more effective implementation, improvements based on user feedback and identified challenges are necessary. Recommendations include optimizing user experience, enhancing training and support, and improving communication channels. Through these improvements, a more responsive and effective supervision system can be established, contributing to the success and satisfaction of graduate students.
