OCT BIOMARKER AND THEIR APPLICATION IN EVALUATING ANTIVEGF RESPONSE IN TYPE 2 DIABETIC MACULOPATHY
Introduction: Diabetic maculopathy is a result of diabetic retinopathy and it involves impairment of the macula, which is the “center region of the retina that responsible for central vision”. Aim and Objective: To access the OCT biomarker and their application in evaluating anti VEGF response in Type 2 Diabetic maculopathy. Material and Method: Prospective observational study, carried out on 100 patients in department of ophthalmology in BRD medical collage in a duration of 12 months ( may 2023-april 2024). Results: p-value of CMT, SRF and HRF are less then 0.001 (signicant) whereas it is more then 0.05 in DRIL, IRCS and EZD (not signicant). Conclusion: OCT markers in evaluating “the response to anti-VEGF therapy in Type 2 Diabetic Maculopathy”. The identied OCT biomarkers, such as Central Macular Thickness (CMT), Subretinal Fluid (SRF) and Hyperreective Foci (HRF) effectively predicted anatomical changes in patients treated with intravitreal ranibizumab. The research found a signicant association between OCT morphological changes and functional improvement (visual acuity), conrming that OCT markers are valuable in assessing treatment outcomes.
