Reducing Mutual Coupling Using Ring SRR MetaSurface for Multiband MIMO Antenna

This work reduces mutual coupling in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna system by using two circular SRR meta-surface (MS) walls. The array of two-by-one rectangular patches is oriented normally and placed between the horizontal plane and the meta-surfacestructures. The proposed array is simulated using the CST studio software. The outcome outputs illustrate the effects of applying the meta-surface wall. By using the proposed MS barriers, mutual coupling is reduced.

Abstract

This work reduces mutual coupling in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna system by using two circular SRR meta-surface (MS) walls. The array of two-by-one rectangular patches is oriented normally and placed between the horizontal plane and the meta-surfacestructures. The proposed array is simulated using the CST studio software. The outcome outputs illustrate the effects of applying the meta-surface wall. By using the proposed MS barriers, mutual coupling is reduced.
