A Multi-Bistatic UGV-GPR System for Increased Surveyed Area Coverage
This paper presents the concept and implementation of a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) front end integrated with an Ultra- Wideband multi-antenna system for enhanced surveyed area coverage. The proposed radiating unit comprises an UWB RF switch capable of sequentially selecting 1 out of 8 Tx-Rx antenna pairs. The GPR-Antenna system is mounted on an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) so that the presented configuration increases the covered area in a single UGV-GPR pass. One of the key advantages of the system is its ability to align multiple B-scans in one run, which facilitates the identification of buried targets.
