High Performance RFID Temperature Sensor for IoT Applications

This paper presents a chipless RFID temperature sensor based on a slow-wave reflecting resonator using the RO3210 substrate that exhibits a dielectric constant with significant thermal coefficient. In addition to its temperature sensing functionality, the chipless sensor offers an impressive coding capacity of 8 bits in a frequency range of 8 to 12 GHz. This allows for the encoding and transmission of temperature data using the RFID technology. simulation results revealed a remarkable quality factor, coding stability and sensing precision that make it a reliable tool for temperature monitoring in various industries.
