CLLC Resonant Power Converter for Electric Vehicle Charging Applications
Electric vehicles (EVs) have attracted significant interest for their ability to operate independently from traditional fossil fuels and their role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This paper introduces a bidirectional CLLC resonant converter used for EV charging applications. The operating principles and characteristics of the converter are explained in this study. The key factors contributing to high efficiency in this converter include zero-voltage switching on the primary side and zero-current switching on the secondary side in both forward and reverse operation modes. Simulation results obtained using PLECS have validated the effectiveness of the converter.
