Evaluating the Impact of Innovation on National Competitiveness: Application of a Regression Technique in a Global Context.

This study analyzes the impact of innovation on Peru's competitiveness in a global context, considering investment in research and development (R&D) and the country's evolution in the international innovation ranking. With a quantitative approach and applying the least squares regression technique, the results show a coefficient of 1.2699 for the innovation variable. This suggests that an increase of one unit in the innovation index is associated with an increase of 1.27 units in the competitiveness index, which is statistically significant (p-value of 0.000), highlighting innovation as a key factor in competitiveness. However, Peru has shown limited progress in the global innovation ranking and maintains low investment in R&D. To improve its competitive position, the country should increase its investment in innovation and strengthen its capabilities to innovate.
