Blockchain-Based Communicator with Multicast Transmission

This paper examines the conceptualization and implementation of an instant messaging application, which is decentralized. The proposed work utilizes a blockchain with end-to-end encryption and digital signatures. The need for nodes dedicated to mining has been done away with, by introducing a new consensus mechanism called Proof of Message (PoM). The implementation demonstrates improved security over traditional centralized messaging systems while maintaining usability for small to medium-sized groups (50–100 users). When compared to conventional instant messaging applications which are centralized, the increase in latency has been found to be minimal, according to performance analysis.

Abstract

This paper examines the conceptualization and implementation of an instant messaging application, which is decentralized. The proposed work utilizes a blockchain with end-to-end encryption and digital signatures. The need for nodes dedicated to mining has been done away with, by introducing a new consensus mechanism called Proof of Message (PoM). The implementation demonstrates improved security over traditional centralized messaging systems while maintaining usability for small to medium-sized groups (50–100 users). When compared to conventional instant messaging applications which are centralized, the increase in latency has been found to be minimal, according to performance analysis.
