Through literature examination, researchers found that Paul was the first to create this term. The word charism is used by Paul to refer to the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the edification of the church. However, traces of charisma are no longer found in the writings after the fourth century. Between this period and the end of the nineteenth century is called by the Church: the period when charisms were not in the front and center in the life of the Church. But that does not mean charisma just disappears. The charism is still preserved in its ordinary form for the daily life of the Church and in its extraordinary form in certain individuals.
