STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS OF ORGANIZED INDUSTRIAL ZONES IN TURKEY AND SUGGESTIONS FOR SOLUTION

Industrialization policies, which were carried out insensitively and unplanned until recently, have destroyed agricultural lands, polluted the air and water resources, paved the way for unplanned and unplanned urbanization, and irreversibly damaged natural resources. OIZs, which emerged against this unplanned and distorted industrialization, are of great importance in the economic development, industrialization and added value production capacity of countries. With OIZs, agricultural lands are protected, the quality of urban life increases, and the impact of jointly established waste facilities and factories on environmental pollution is prevented. However, OIZs, which are increasingly important and established in almost every settlement, experience structural and managerial problems within themselves and in their functioning, and encounter bureaucratic obstacles. The aim of the study is to identify these problems and obstacles and to offer solutions to them. A two-stage approach method was adopted in the study. In the first stage, a literature review was conducted within the scope of qualitative analysis technique for the general conditions of OIZs and descriptive explanations were made about the structure and functions of OIZs. In the second stage, solution suggestions for the structural and functional problems of OIZs were developed in line with the cause-effect relationship

Abstract

Industrialization policies, which were carried out insensitively and unplanned until recently, have destroyed agricultural lands, polluted the air and water resources, paved the way for unplanned and unplanned urbanization, and irreversibly damaged natural resources. OIZs, which emerged against this unplanned and distorted industrialization, are of great importance in the economic development, industrialization and added value production capacity of countries.
