Plant Nano‐Immunoengineering and Biostimulant Applications of Ti3C2T<i>x</i> MXene Colloids for Enhanced Systemic Defense against Phytopathogens and Stress Resistance Mechanisms (Adv. Funct. Mater. 1/2025)
Immunoengineering of Agricultural Plants In article number 2411869, Bruno M. Moerschbacher, Alireza Rafieerad, and co-workers report innovative phyto-applications of mixed-low-dimensional titanium carbide MXene (Ti3C2Tx)-based aqueous colloids for plant-immune engineering and stimulation. These intrinsic bioactivities of relatively low doses autoclaved Ti3C2Tx nanosheets are elucidated on enhancing seed-to-seedling transition, eliciting/priming/stomatal closure-inducing mechanisms, and defense-related gene/phytohormone regulation alongside antiviral/antibacterial/antifungal modes-of-action to boost plant-innate immunity, systemic disease resistance, and defense/growth-related responses, suggesting MXene's potential for agricultural protection-by-nano-design.
