Three-Level Chirp-Rate Shift Keying Modulation for Rotating-Magnet Based Mechanical Antenna

This paper investigates a three-level Chirp-Rate Shift Keying (CSK) modulation for Rotating-magnet Based Mechanical Antenna (RMBMA), which aims to further reduce the system power consumption of the existing techniques. The reduction of system power consumption is realized by introducing “0” code without mechanical energy increment. However, the non-orthogonality of the “0” code waveform with respect to the waveforms of the “1” and “-1” codes adversely affects the system's reception performance. Wireless communication experiments were conducted with varying ratios of the “0” code, and the results indicate that a “0” code ratio of 20% optimally balances integrated system reception performance and power consumption.
