Quality of life among environmental chemistry students: knowledge, perceptions, and proposals
University life brings challenges, such as physical and psychological health issues, unsatisfactory academic performance, and even course dropout. It is therefore essential to study students' quality of life to identify and address these issues. This study aimed to analyze the knowledge, perceptions, and propositions of Environmental Chemistry students regarding quality of life. Data were collected on social, economic, and academic aspects, as well as students' knowledge, perceptions, and propositions related to quality of life. The analysis was performed using Excel, with results described in frequencies and percentages, and textual analysis for open-ended questions. The main findings highlight the importance of monitoring students' quality of life, given their socioeconomic conditions and daily activities. The students positively evaluated the social domain but gave less favorable assessments for the physical and psychological domains. The course evaluation was positive, but demotivating aspects were raised, such as concerns about the job market, infrastructure, psychological, and financial conditions. Students proposed improvements such as partnerships with companies, research incentives, infrastructure upgrades, and more flexible schedules.
