Teachers’ Perceptions on Directors’ Instructional Leadership in Secondary Resource Schools: Regional Variations and Impacts on Teachers Commitment in Cambodia

This research investigates instructional leadership (IL) in 12 secondary resource schools, comparing teachers’ perceptions of their school directors’ IL practices among three different regions and examining the effects of IL on teacher commitment to the school. A quantitative method was employed, with data gathered via a structured questionnaire from 619 teachers. One-way ANOVA analysis showed significant regional differences in teachers’ perceptions of their school directors’ ability to create school missions. However, there were no significant regional differences in teachers’ perceptions of their school directors’ effectiveness in developing the school learning climate. The findings from regression analysis also revealed that both school missions and school learning climate were significant predictors of teacher commitment to school.
