Comparison of MLSD and M-BCJR for 1.6T Data-Center Interconnects with Brick-wall Bandwidth Limitation

We experimentally demonstrate single-wavelength 1.6-Tb/s(=8×200Gb/s) data-center interconnects over a 1-km 8-core MCF link. We compare the performance of MLSD and M-BCJR algorithms for FTN transmission under brick-wall bandwidth limitation. The MLSD algorithm achieves 10.19% BER decrease compared with M-BCJR under 40-GHz bandwidth limitation.

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate single-wavelength 1.6-Tb/s(=8×200Gb/s) data-center interconnects over a 1-km 8-core MCF link. We compare the performance of MLSD and M-BCJR algorithms for FTN transmission under brick-wall bandwidth limitation. The MLSD algorithm achieves 10.19% BER decrease compared with M-BCJR under 40-GHz bandwidth limitation.
