Fully-Analog Automatic Bias Controller for Electro-Optic Modulator

We present an automatic bias controller by completely using analog circuit with lower power consumption and smaller size compared to digital ones. Our controller maintains the bias point of the thin-film lithium niobate modulator within <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\frac{\pi}{2}\pm 0.016$</tex> rad under a bias disturbance of 3140 rad/s.

Abstract

We present an automatic bias controller by completely using analog circuit with lower power consumption and smaller size compared to digital ones. Our controller maintains the bias point of the thin-film lithium niobate modulator within <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\frac{\pi}{2}\pm 0.016$</tex> rad under a bias disturbance of 3140 rad/s.
