Study of the Application of Wide-area Transistors in Inverter Arc Welders

This paper discusses the possibilities of using SiC and GaN wide-area transistors in inverter-based arc welders to improve their performance. A simulation study is made with respect to the losses in the transistors and with respect to the output current of inverter arc welders at different power transistors.

Abstract

This paper discusses the possibilities of using SiC and GaN wide-area transistors in inverter-based arc welders to improve their performance. A simulation study is made with respect to the losses in the transistors and with respect to the output current of inverter arc welders at different power transistors.
