A Load Step Change Oscillation Suppression Method for a PV-Energy Storage Transformer System
Distributed renewable energy systems, such as solar and wind, are replacing traditional power plants, offering lower environmental impact and easier maintenance. However, power oscillations during load changes pose stability risks. Existing methods, which involve adjusting control parameters or limiting photovoltaic output, can reduce efficiency and present practical challenges. This paper proposes a solution that uses the current derivative in PV-storage systems and energy storage control to suppress oscillations during load changes, ensuring stable operation without compromising efficiency or increasing costs. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been tested in a PV-energy storage transformer system modeled in PSCAD.
