Integration of 3D Scanning Data and Motion Capture System for Meta Human Animations
As digital ecosystems evolve, advanced technologies such as 3D scanning and motion capture are increasingly used, enabling new forms of creative expression. This report explores the significant capabilities that the Artec Leo 3D scanner and Optitrack motion capture system provide for creating Meta-Humans. The potential of these tools within smart digital ecosystems is analyzed, particularly in terms of improving realism, efficiency and interoperability across different digital arts and animation platforms. An overview of the technical capabilities of the Artec Leo scanner and the Optitrack system is presented, emphasizing how these technologies are suited to the creation and animation of Meta Humans. The methodology describes the process of scanning human models using the Artec Leo scanner and then animating them with motion capture data from Optitrack, illustrating how workflows are facilitated. The results show how this integration produces extremely realistic and detailed Meta Human models and animations, proving their usefulness in both artistic and practical applications. Improvements in accuracy using this type of technology to capture human movement and anatomy, time efficiency in the creation process, and expanded creative possibilities within a smart digital ecosystem are discussed. It demonstrates how access to advanced scanning and motion capture techniques can enhance and optimize the work of 3D artists, and also points out possible directions for future research that can expand digital ecosystems in the creative industries.
