Fiber-Optic Time Transfer Over a Ring Network with Data Transmission

In this paper, we proposed a point-to-multipoint fiber-optic time transfer scheme over ring networks. The proposed scheme is experimentally demonstrated over a 400 km ring fiber network with the communication data transmission in an adjacent channel. The results show that the clock difference with the mean value of less than 9.4 ps is obtained, and the time stability in terms of time deviation can be better than 15.17 ps@1s, while the bit error rate of the communication data transmission is better than <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$1.37\times 10^{-14}$</tex>.
