Day-ahead Unit Commitment under Extreme Weather Conditions
In the context of global climate warming leading to frequent extreme weather events, the power system faces severe challenges. This study first analyzes the impact of extreme weather on renewable energy output and load demand, deriving corresponding probabilistic models. Subsequently, a day-ahead unit commitment model considering hierarchical demand response is proposed. This model accounts for the flexibility resources on the demand side and the uncertainties of renewable energy under extreme weather, utilizing chance constraints to achieve coordinated scheduling for "generation-grid-load-storage", thereby reducing the impact of extreme weather on the stable operation of the power system. Through case analysis, the effectiveness of the proposed model is verified. The model can effectively reduce operating costs and load shedding costs, enhance the power grid’s supply security, and provide a reference for the allocation of flexibility resources in the power system under extreme weather conditions.
