Performance Analysis and Optimization of Shaded 12.6 kW Peak Photovoltaic System using PVsyst
The world climate changes and brings severe storms, floodings and other anomalies. The green deal pushes the adoption of green technologies. One of the promising solutions are the photovoltaic (PV) systems, but they still have many drawbacks, which could be overcome by local to the final consumer installations, but most of the human population live in urban areas, where the PV working conditions are far from optimal. The mentioned problems require case-oriented PV system design approaches for optimal operation and lower usage costs. In this regard, a specialized software could be of a big help for at least partial automation of each particular design process. This work analyzes shaded 12.6 kW peak photovoltaic system, located at University of Ruse, installed in urban environment, by using the specialized PVsyst software. The simulation results are compared to the real ones. The conclusions are that the projected results, presented by the PVsyst software, are sufficiently detailed, correct, reliable and useful for the preliminary optimal design process of a PV system for urban environment.
