An 8×8-Pixel LiDAR Receiver with Multi-Echo Recording TDC for Background Light Interference Mitigation
This paper reports a light detection and range (LiDAR) receiver based on an 8 × 8 Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) array. A Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) capable of performing photon coincidence detection and recording multiecho is proposed to filter out background noise interference and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. The experimental results show that the active region of the 8×8 SPAD receiver array can be reconfigurable to suit the optic focal point, thereby avoiding the influence of SPADs outside the optic focal point.
