A Linear Polarized Huygens Metasurface for Millimeter Wave Antennas

This paper introduces a low-profile, miniature, dual band, high gain metasurface with linear polarization. The proposed metasurface consists of two layers of rectangular metallic elements. Through sophisticated design of the element sizes and unit cell pitch, this metasurface effectively covers the 5G Frequency Range 2 (FR2) n257 and n258 bands with high gain. Simulation results demonstrate that the compact size and high-gain performance of the proposed design have significant potential for practical applications in vehicle borne communication.

Abstract

This paper introduces a low-profile, miniature, dual band, high gain metasurface with linear polarization. The proposed metasurface consists of two layers of rectangular metallic elements. Through sophisticated design of the element sizes and unit cell pitch, this metasurface effectively covers the 5G Frequency Range 2 (FR2) n257 and n258 bands with high gain. Simulation results demonstrate that the compact size and high-gain performance of the proposed design have significant potential for practical applications in vehicle borne communication.
