Electrical Start Control Strategy of Self-Synchronized Voltage Source DFIG Wind Turbine Generator

Transitioning to a power system heavily reliant on renewable clean energy involves more than just replacing conventional fossil-fuel-based power plant with renewable sources. It is believed that the self-synchronized voltage source control strategy of DFIG wind turbine generator is one of the possible solutions to realize virtual inertia and is helpful to increase the frequency stability of power system. However, few research is focused on the grid integration process of self-synchronized voltage source control strategy. This paper proposes new electrical start control strategy to address this issue, which can significantly reduce shock current during integration process, the effectiveness of control strategy is verified through Real-Time Digital Simulator.
