Message from the Chairs of Vehiclouds 2024

We proudly announce the First Workshop on Vehicular Technologies with Cloud-assisted AI Computati on (Vehiclouds 2024) in conjuncti on with IEEE CloudNet 2024. Vehiclouds is the fi rst att empt to bring the automoti ve industry to IEEE CloudNet as both worlds are increasingly connected. As menti oned in our call for papers, the interplay between cars and clouds uses machine-learning-based soluti ons to provide intelligent services, making cloud computi ng a fundamental piece of the vehicular puzzle. As a fi rst editi on, we have received seven full-paper submissions with authors from diff erent countries. Each paper received at least three reviews from the Technical Program Committee, composed of 14 experts from academia and industry. Based on their reviews, we have selected fi ve full papers for the technical program. These papers were organized into two technical sessions covering applicati ons and infrastructure topics in a broader sense. In summary, the selected papers address smart mobility, networking, intermitt ent connecti vity, edge computi ng, and federated learning. We thank the General Chairs of IEEE CloudNet 2024, Prof. Igor Monteiro Moraes (Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil) and Prof. Diogo Menezes Ferrazani Matt os (Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil), and the remaining members of the Organizing Committee for their support. We hope you enjoy the technical program and the networking opportuniti es!
