PMSG Controller Optimization based on Eigensystem Realization Algorithm and Resonance Area
This paper proposes a parameter optimization scheme based on eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) and resonance area (RA) to avoid potential modal resonance. Firstly, the system oscillation modes are identified based on ERA. Secondly, RA is defined to obtain the areas that have high risk of modal resonance based on the eigenvalues obtained by ERA. Then, resonance strength index (RSI) is proposed to evaluate the strength of modal resonance. Finally, resonance area-based controller optimization (RAC) scheme based on RA and RSI is proposed to avoid strong modal resonance occurring. The simulation of IEEE 39-bus proves that the RAC scheme can effectively avoid the occurrence of obvious modal resonance of the system and effectively improve the system stability.
