Simulation Design of the Effect of Static Reactive Power Compensator on the Static Stability of a 110 kV Power System
The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of static reactive power compensator (SVC) on the static stability of the power system, especially in terms of voltage stability and generator power angle stability. By building a simulation model of a stand-alone load system in Simulink, the voltage changes and power angle stability of the system before and after adding SVC are compared. The simulation results show that SVC can significantly improve the system voltage stability and power angle stability. Specifically, after adding SVC, the voltage stability of the system is significantly improved, and the fluctuations of generator power angle and speed are also significantly reduced, which enhances the static stability of the power system. The results shows that SVC plays an important role in improving the static stability of power systems.
