Lunar Surface Scattering Simulation Based on an Automatic Matching Algorithm From Optical Images
Research on lunar often requires the combination of multi-sensor images, which requires an image-to-image alignment. In fact, the result of the alignment will directly affect the subsequent research and the analysis of the results. In this paper, we match optical and multi-sensor images based on image matching techniques. Thus, it is possible to combine Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and Synthetic Aperture radar (SAR) data. Our method uses a Gabor-Wavelet filter for texture extraction and Normalized Cross-Correlation (NCC) for matching the extracted texture. And the best matching parameters are obtained when the NCC value is maximized. In addition, this work combines SAR data and DEM data through image matching, and applies the results to imaging simulation.
