Experimental Observation of the PPR Effect with a Multi-Section DBR Laser
A multi-section DBR laser was studied experimentally, with a focus on comparing characteristics of the laser in absence and presence of the photon-photon resonance (PPR) effect. When the PPR occurs, a pronounced resonance peak is observed in the amplitude modulation (AM) response, which is far beyond the carrier-photon resonance (CPR) peak and further confirmed by the relative intensity noise (RIN) measurements. Measure results also indicate that the PPR can be adjusted with the currents into the grating reflector.
