Phase-Sensitive Amplifier-Based OOK to 8QAM Optical Aggregation Enabling Optical Networks Interconnection
A scheme for optical aggregation from OOK to 8QAM has been proposed. l0G Baud 3xOOK-to-8QAM channel aggregation is achieved and analyzed. The constellation operations mainly contain non-degenerate phase-sensitive amplifier-based vector moving and cross phase modulation-based information superposition. The constellation, eye diagram, and bit error rate (BER) performance of OOK, PAM4 and 8QAM signals were measured. When the BER is 10–3, under the input OSNRs of 20 dB and 30 dB, the aggregated 8QAM shows the receiver OSNRs of 21.0 dB and 19.1 dB. Optical aggregation is an important support for the evolution of optical networks.
