Probabilistic and Deterministic Full Duplex Routing Protocol in Cognitive Radio Networks
The paper proposes probabilistic and deterministic full duplex routing protocols for cognitive radio networks (CRNs) that address challenges posed by recent advances in full-duplex (FD) communications. Traditional routing schemes face limitations in multi-hop CRNs due to the constrained set of available channels and the half-duplex nature of connections. The proposed protocol leverages full-duplex technology and cognitive radio capabilities to enable efficient spectrum utilization. By considering all channels, including periodically sensed and probabilistically available ones, and assuming full-duplex operation, the protocols aim to optimize throughput. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvements over existing methods, with the proposed protocol achieving higher throughput (approximately 50% more than existing methods). These findings validate the effectiveness of the proposed routing protocols in enhancing the performance of CRNs.
