Long-term Performance Assessment of Green Roof Photovoltaic Systems Based on Improved SAM Model

Green rooftop photovoltaic (GPV) systems combine photovoltaic power generation with green roof technology, enhancing power generation efficiency. However, existing studies mainly rely on experimental platforms to obtain short-term data, facing issues such as unexpected equipment failures and data discontinuities, leading to inaccurate GPV performance assessments. This paper proposes an improved System Advisor Model (SAM) simulation method based on the Vegetation-Adjusted Temperature (VAT) model for the long-term prediction of GPV systems. Simulation results show that the VAT-based SAM model demonstrates high accuracy, enabling the long-term prediction of continuous and complete GPV power generation data, making it more suitable for GPV performance evaluation.
