A Use Case Study of Implementing 50G-PON for Fiber-to-the-Room-Business (FTTR-B)
The implementation of Fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) technology in residential areas has dramatically increased home networking capacity and user service quality. Building on this success, FTTR applications are now being expanded to business scenarios, including micro enterprises, small enterprises, and campus environments. FTTR deployment in these business sectors aims to enhance network performance, reliability, and scalability, offering tailored solutions to meet the unique demands of small-scale business operations and academic institutions. This paper delves into a use case study of implementing 50 Gb/s Passive Optical Network (50G-PON) and FTTR in business sectors. It examines the impact on network architecture, the technical specifications of the requisite equipment, and the advanced management strategies required to maintain and control these networks effectively. This paper investigates a deployment example and test results from a top telecom operator's network. Test results demonstrate how 50G-PON and FTTR are improving connectivity and operational efficiency in the scenarios of enterprise and campus networks.
