Energy Efficient and Compact Optical DAC Transmitter Using CMOS Inverter Driver and Silicon Segmented Modulator

We demonstrated 64Gbaud NRZ and 50Gbaud 16QAM operation using a silicon segmented modulator and a CMOS inverter driver. The highest transmitter density of >300Gbps/mm2 was achieved among a coherent optical transmitter.
