Performance Analysis of Free-Space Optical Link and Beam Displacement Tracking using Combined Bessel-Gaussian Beams

We propose a free-space optical link with beam displacement tracking using combined Bessel-Gaussian (BG) beams, where the performances of beam spreading, pointing error, and power scintillation under atmospheric turbulence conditions are investigated. The simulated results indicate that BG beams are more turbulence-resistant compared to Gaussian beams.

Abstract

We propose a free-space optical link with beam displacement tracking using combined Bessel-Gaussian (BG) beams, where the performances of beam spreading, pointing error, and power scintillation under atmospheric turbulence conditions are investigated. The simulated results indicate that BG beams are more turbulence-resistant compared to Gaussian beams.
