Field Trial of Cylindrical Vector Beam Propagation in Free-Space Optical Communication
In this work, we experimentally demonstrated the turbulence resilience of the cylindrical vector beam (CVB) over a 3.2 km free-space field trial transmission link. The experimental results demonstrate that the CVB exhibits stronger turbulence resilience compared to the scalar circularly polarized Gaussian beam. Under conditions of strong atmospheric turbulence, the communication stability probability of the 1st-order CVB improves by about 1/3 compared to the Gaussian beam.
