An Optical Radio-Frequency Memory for Radar False Target Generation

An optical radio-frequency memory (ORFM) based on a distributed-amplification-assisted frequency shifting loop is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The pulse duration of the stored RF signal is 10 µs and more than 300 circulations is achieved, which corresponds to an unprecedented memory time of 13 ms.

Abstract

An optical radio-frequency memory (ORFM) based on a distributed-amplification-assisted frequency shifting loop is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The pulse duration of the stored RF signal is 10 µs and more than 300 circulations is achieved, which corresponds to an unprecedented memory time of 13 ms.
