Analysis and Research on the Construction of Remote Intelligent Patrol System for Ultra High Voltage AC Substation

In recent years, UHV AC transmission has been developing rapidly in China due to its advantages of large transmission capacity and low loss. Since 2008, the State Grid has built more than 30 UHV AC substations. However, several challenges, such as low patrol efficiency, high risk of equipment, and difficulty in guaranteeing personal safety, have been troubling O&M personnel in UHV AC substations. With the emergence of remote intelligent patrol system, these major problems gradually have a solution. The use of high-definition cameras and other front-end sensing equipment, instead of operation and maintenance personnel to monitor the operational status of field equipment. Not only can realize the remote effective patrol of on-site equipment, but also allow O&M personnel to stay away from high-risk areas such as oil-filled equipment sites. Based on the actual operation and maintenance needs of UHV AC substations, this paper combines the difficulties and weaknesses of the existing remote intelligent patrol system, and puts forward the key points and programs for the construction of the remote intelligent patrol system of UHV AC substations in the whole process from the infrastructure stage to the operation stage. It provides new ideas for the construction of remote intelligent patrol system of UHV AC substation.
