One of the Most Common Causes of Deviations in the Hydraulic Characteristics of Electromagnetic Fuel Injectors
The presented study provides an in-depth analysis of the root causes leading to deviations in the hydraulic characteristics of electromagnetic injectors commonly employed in modern diesel engines equipped with Common Rail fuel systems. Based on a robust statistical dataset gathered from bench tests conducted in a specialized diesel fuel system repair workshop, the research encompasses a wide range of injectors manufactured by leading global suppliers such as Bosch, Denso, and Delphi. All tests were executed under strictly controlled conditions on a specialized CMX6000X test bench, enabling precise measurement of various parameters characterizing injector performance. Through analysis of the obtained data, several factors contributing to the degradation of injector hydraulic characteristics were identified, including wear of working surfaces, carbon deposits, and failures of the electromagnetic coil. Additionally, the study examines the impact of fuel quality, operating conditions, and injector design on their reliability and durability.
