A High Energy Efficiency Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of Electrically Extra Large Objects

In the fields of weapon platform stealth design and radar target recognition, there is an urgent need for precise electromagnetic scattering analysis of complex, largescale objects (» 1000 wavelengths). Although existing algorithms strive to address these problems, they often require enormous computational resources (Over 10000 CPU cores and 100 TB of memory), with computation times extending into the hundreds of hours. These traditional methods are characterized by low energy efficiency and cannot guarantee computational accuracy. To tackle these challenges, this article presents an innovative Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method. By integrating prior electromagnetic phase information into the numerical framework, this method dramatically reduces computational complexity and enhances energy efficiency. The performance of this solver is demonstrated through an aircraft carrier scattering model that spans more than 2400 wavelengths, highlighting its robustness and superior energy efficiency.
